More than 295 top Maths and Physics pupils from schools in the Durban area attended Engineering Career Days 2017 at the UNITE Building on the Howard College campus.
Learners heard about the different disciplines of Engineering from staff and postgraduate students.
The days were aimed partly at recruiting learners to the Engineering Discipline but also to further enlighten the youngsters about what is expected of them as students in the various disciplines of Engineering.
Pupils also heard about academic requirements necessary to gain entry into the Engineering Discipline.
The School of Engineering is increasing its initiatives to recruit female learners and this is in line with the School’s ‘Engineering is a Girls’ Thing’ initiative.
The career days, which were a great success, ended with exciting Chemistry and Physics science shows.
